.First staged in 1942, this is one of the premier sporting events in the city and one of the biggest events on Mumbai’s social calendar. The Mcdowell’s Signature Derby will held from 4th February 2012 to 5th February 2012at Mahalaxmi Racecourse Mumbai.

The Indian Derby, is the highlight of Mumbai’s racing season and the most happening event on the city’s social calendar. The true racing lovers will participate in a large number on Derby day as the course overflows with uptown viewers.

The race is known as the “Crown Jewel of the Triple Crown“. It is restricted to four-year-old horses, both colts and fillies, but is almost of secondary importance to the activities surrounding the event. It is important to be seen here, and to be seen at your smartest.

The event is supported by McDowell and Company, a liquor company controlled by Vijay Mallya, who also owns one of India’s leading stables.
